Fredrick “Coach Fred" brings a wealth of experience to the program. He currently serves as the Head Assistant Coach at Detroit Loyola, entering is 23rd season of coaching experience, Coach Fred brings a deep knowledge of the game and a strong commitment to player development and team success.

2nd Year Coaching | Dragons (Detroit, MI)

Amari, is returning in the same role as last year within our program. As Detroit Loyola's All-Time assist leader and brings a tremendous upside to our program. The ability to reach athletes while teaching the game the correct way goes a very long way in our player devolvement. The Dragons program are so excited for his return and wiliness to leading the coaching side of things. Watch out as we are the first to tell you a future head coach in the making.

Junior | Chesterton Academy (Clinton Township, MI)

Ryan is entering his first year with the Dragons. Another player with great experience that brings high IQ to a very athletic team. His sharp shooting only enhances the playing style this team would love to play with. Ryan has earned being one of the team captians.

Junior | Woodhaven (Brownstown, MI)

Nathan “Nate” Smith is entering his first year with the Dragons. Despite being new to the program, Nate’s leadership and work ethic have already made a strong impact, earning him the honor of being named team captain for the 2026 season.

Junior | Plymouth (Plymouth, MI)

​

Melvin returns to the Dragons program after a year away and is ready to make a major impact. With his exceptional length, he creates problems for opponents in all three phases of the game offense, defense, and rebounding. Poised for a breakout season, Melvin is expected to be a key contributor for the Dragons while also making his mark on the Prep Hoops circuit.

Sophomore | Loyola (Detroit, MI)

Donovan is entering his second year in the Dragons program. An early injury slowed him during the spring and early summer, but since returning, he’s become a powerful force on the court. With a strong inside and outside game paired with fierce defense, colleges will be in awe of this 6'2" phenom.

Braylon enters his third season with the Dragons as one of the team’s veteran leaders. Since his early days with the 8th grade and 15U teams, his growth has been evident both on and off the court. Through steady development in basketball IQ and physical strength, Braylon is poised to take the next step in his progression as a player and point guard. Despite having just three years of playing experience, he continues to impress coaches and teammates alike with his defensive mindset and team-first approach.

Junior | Ferndale (Ferndale, MI)

Jaion enters his first season with the Dragons, bringing added shiftiness to an already strong backcourt. He pairs a defensive mindset with the ability to score at all three levels, making him a well-rounded threat on the floor. After taking a year off, he returns refreshed and energized and it shows. We’re excited to have him onboard.

Junior | Clarenceville (Livonia, MI)

Truth enters his first season with the Dragons ready to make an immediate impact. A strong, defense-first player, he perfectly fits a team that prides itself on setting the tone on the defensive end. Scrappy and relentless, Truth always seems to be around the ball, consistently making the right play at the right time. His energy, toughness, and high basketball IQ make him an ideal addition to this year’s highly athletic Dragons squad.

Junior | Belleville (Belleville, MI)

Tamaren enters his first season with the Dragons. Brings a huge upside of experience from the point guard position. As a very strong defensive player, Mr. Campbell will cause havoc while still controlling the flow of the offence. Great shooting range and court vision he's more than ready to show coaches and players that he belongs on the next level as he prepares for a strong senior year. Bam has earned being named a team captian for this year.

Junior |  L'Anse Creuse North (Macomb, MI)

Nathan enters his first season with the Dragons, bringing a valuable ability to stretch the floor and elevate the team’s offensive versatility. Nathan is recovering from knee surgery and on the correct path to be a strong force more than ready to prove that he not only belongs at this level, but that he’s prepared for the next one.

Junior | Loyola (Detroit, MI)

Aiden enters his first season with the Dragons and brings a tremendous amount of experience to a very young team. With an already college-ready frame, Mr. Smith provides the physical style of play required at this level. His ability to play four different positions gives the lineup flexibility without any drop-off, thanks to his strong scoring ability. Although he is extremely passionate about the game, his calmness in crucial moments adds a level of value that is unmatched.

Junior | Lincoln Park (Lincoln Park, MI)

Terry joins the Motor City Dragons as a high-IQ player who impacts the game on both ends of the floor. A versatile scorer, he can stretch the defense with his shooting from beyond the arc while also attacking the rim with aggression, drawing fouls and converting at the free throw line.

Beyond his scoring ability, Terry is a selfless teammate who consistently makes the right play, whether that’s creating his own shot or setting up others. His decision-making and court awareness make him a valuable presence in any lineup.
